got kazua de, really, they cant swim but can fly and beside searoach is very big in size....and they breed in kelong wood structure internally... sad~~~

here is what a seacockroach looks like for people going to the kelong shown above,actually is also known as 'sea slater'.It is not a true cockroach that you see in the rubbish bin, it is a crustacean (belongs to prawn and crab family) and looks like a huge wood louse .Yes i agree with Val that some species of sea cockroach are big,but they do not fly,they jump and move fast like jumping spiders.If you see one comming towards you, use something or a tool to chase it away as i not so sure they bite if you use your bare hands to sweep them.
They are scavengers type of creatures.

Sea lice live on rocks, not wood. Besides, they do not bite and normally avoid humans.. -.-" I haven't seen a single sea louse on wooden jetties in all my years of jetty fishing..
I think, you will more likely bump into a sea louse while swimming at the beach, rather than a place like the kelong.. =p

come come everyone, it one more day then it is our kelong trip liao. remenber to stock up what ever thing u all need to bring along.
